Saggar firing is a “Alternative firing” technique (unlike a glaze firing) in which CCC uses materials like leafs, pine needles, coffee grounds, sugar, salt and other materials to embellish each ceramic piece. Once treated, the pots undergo their final firing in a Raku kiln. The process takes about an hour to fire a full kiln load. Saggar Firing is a unique technique, as it is impossible to obtain the same result twice. Position in the kiln, air flow and the materials used give each piece a one of a kind aesthetic. Each with it's own personality of design & color.
